What We Can and Cannot Make
Mama's Best Bakery is a Cottage Bakery under the Idaho Cottage Bakery Laws. While this gives us freedom to make a large amount of baked goods, there are a few items that we cannot make according to Idaho law.
In short, we cannot make any baked good that needs to be refrigerated. This includes custard pies, cheesecakes, raw dough, etc. They're not considered "shelf stable." This is why we also cannot sell milk or cream cheese to go with our cookies and bagels.
But there's good news! We are working to get a full business license. Once we have that, we will be allowed to sell pretty much anything. More pies, special cakes, spaghetti, whatever weird thing comes to mind. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
For advance orders under $100, payment must be made in full before we will bake your order. For orders over $100, a 25% deposit will be accepted. If you need to cancel, let us know as early as possible to get your deposit back. Cancellations made within 1 week of pickup date may not be refunded.
Pickups, Cancellations, and No-Shows
You can order baked goods and schedule a pickup at most any time. We only have a few rules for scheduling. We need at least 24-hours notice to make your order and possibly more, depending on the complexity. Baked goods gotta bake, after all.
PARKING: We will give you directions to our home, but if you choose to park in our complex, PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN ANY SPACE WITH A NUMBER! These are assigned spaces and visitors are not allowed there. Please park in the "Visitor" spaces by the small, greenish mail building. Or park along Atlantic street.
This helps us stay on good terms with our neighbors, our Homeowner's Association, and the city zoning board. Thank you for your compliance.
If you need to cancel or change an order, please let us know 2-3 days in advance so that we don't bake it at the wrong time. If you paid in advance, we'll happily issue a refund for a cancellation. However, if the baked good is already made, a refund may not be given in order to cover production costs.
If you cannot make an appointment because of something unforeseen, just let us know. If you don't, we will try to contact you. If you do not show up for your appointment and we cannot contact you, your order may be given or sold to someone else so that it doesn't go bad. Refunds will not be given if this is the case. So please let us know if you need to change plans for any reason. We're happy to do what we can to work with your schedule.
Ding-Dong! We also deliver our goods if you aren't able to pick them up for any reason. However, please know that deliveries within the Twin Falls, Idaho area will incur a $5 delivery charge to cover gas and time. Deliveries outside the Twin Falls area may have an even higher charge.
At this time, we will only deliver within a one-hour radius of Twin Falls, ID. If you live further than this, we can meet somewhere in between our locations. Driving more than an hour one way will bring delivery charges up to $30 or more to cover gas and time. If this is an acceptable rate, we will deliver even further for you.
